The Mis-Education of Ms. Freeman - Surviving in New York City Show at THEATERLAB

The Mis-Education of Ms. Freeman

Surviving in New York City
Tuesday, November 6, 2018 7:30 PM
TheaterLab, 357 West 36th Street 3rd Floor - New York, NY
Surviving in New York City is one thing, but teaching the precocious kids that live there? That's a whole different reality show.
This first time teacher soon realizes that her students have their own lesson plan, and it doesn't involve Math.
She has to survive the baptism by fire in order for her students to learn!
You think you know what it takes to be a teacher, trust me you have no idea!
Written & Performed by: Alaina Freeman
Directed by: Susan Campanaro
**TICKETS ARE LIMITED** (first showing). All ticket purchases must be made electronically. There will be no ticket sales at the door.

Photo Shoot Ayana Evans at Uptown Bounce 8/17/16

Uptown Bounce: The Finale Wednesday, August 17, 6:00 - 9:00 pm El Museo del Barrio and MCNY Exhibit and Block Party Join the Museum of the City of New York and El Museo del Barrio for our third annual Uptown Bounce series of summer block parties! On four consecutive Wednesday evenings, sample distinctive New York DJs with music and dancing (including dance lessons), and enjoy gallery talks and tours, art workshops, summer drinks, and local food.

A private talk with the Artist in Residence Ayana Evans at 6:00pm. Ayana Evans is a NYC based artist. Her work consists of performance (often relational) arts practices that examine experiences and presumed knowledge that are lived through her body. Evans's recent performances include: "Operation Catsuit" and "I Just Came Here to Find a Husband," which are two on-going public interventions.
